PRESENTACIÓN DEL LIBRO MATHEMATICS AND ORIGAMI

The book you are about to browse (click in below) is the translation I made myself into English, from my previous title Matemáticas y Papiroflexia.

The latter was presented during the International Convention of the Spanish Association for Paper folding held in Aranjuez, Madrid, in 2000.

As usual, several eminent Origami creators from abroad were invited to the event. All of them agreed on the interest of the book and on the need of translating it into English to reach a wider audience.

In particular, my friend Robert Lang, two years later pushed me to endure that translation. So, here it is.

I have to thank Aníbal Voyer for making the recompilation of the test to PDF, and to Guadalupe Aguado, Dr. in English Philology and professor at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, and one of my colleagues in the Terminology Committee of the Spanish Institute of Engineering; she is a specialist in technical English and was kind enough to read the book and give me her advice.

I must apologize for the fact that in passing to PDF some beautiful font types have been lost.

And also recommend that the screen should be used at its maximum to have the figures at its best sight: When I made the drawings in Auto Cad my target was only the printing shop; I never thought in the Web.

I wish you enjoy reading the book.
